Route Map showing Day 39 of the TransAmerica Bicycle Trail, Newton Kansas to Eureka Kansas

Kansas is full of power! I rode by many different ways of harvesting energy the past few days ranging from oil derricks to windmills to solar arrays, and even crops.

As I work to consume enough calories every day to keep cranking my pedals, I reflected on the importance of energy management not only for electricity, but also for personal productivity.

I took a break in a little park in Cassoday, Kansas today and was surprised to find this swingset nestled in the woods. The memorial inscription on the stone sign reads "Mandy Likes Playground." 👍🏽
