Route Map showing Day 30 of the TransAmerica Bicycle Trail, Granby Colorado to Heeney Colorado

Nature is inspiring! As I camped alongside a reservoir running low in water (as mountain lakes tend to do after a hot summer), I reflect on something I've been improving on in my own life: establishing healthy rest and replenishment cycles.

The view from my campsite tonight is phenomenal here at Green Mountain Reservoir.

Making memories
  • The stretch of road near Hot Sulphur Springs and Parshall was stunning with beautiful red canyons, a flowing river, and terrific trees.
  • I had a gorgeous campsite at the U. S. Forest Service's Elliot Creek Campground in the White River National Forest and on the shores of Green Mountain Reservoir.
  • I met other cyclists today! In Kremmling, I met a pair of ladies cycling the Great Divide Trail. Then, shortly after passing through Kremmling, a vehicle pulled over to say hello. That's when I had the great pleasure of meeting a fellow cyclist, Keith, who recently relocated from Oklahoma to Colorado via his cargo bicycle. Keith provided refreshments and encouragement. I have the feeling we'll meet again!
  • I enjoyed conversations and breakfast with Bob at Bighorn Bagels before beginning my journey for the day. Thank you for breakfast and bon voyage as you travel to see your new grandchild.
