Route Map showing Day 43 of the TransAmerica Bicycle Trail, Walnut Grove Missouri to Hartville Missouri

Do you ever feel like you need a little more inspiration in your life?

Imagine how it feels to wake up each morning excited and motivated to take on the day. With just a little bit of inspiration, anything is possible. You can achieve your goals, make a difference in the world, and live a life that you love.

People who observe and learn from the world around them never lack inspiration. They notice everyday things and find ways to apply the beauty they see to their own lives.

Watch today's video for what I observed and learned at my campsite this evening.

How about you? How were you inspired by something you noticed today?

I'm loving this autumn camping with cool temperatures and colorful leaves. Tonight I'm camped along the Gasconade River and Casador Lake at the City Park in Hartville, Missouri.

Making memories
  • Towns on Today's Travel Route: Fair Grove, Marshfield, Hartville
  • I camped lakeside at the City Park in Hartville, Missouri.
  • A fellow camper came to say hello at dusk. He had been staying at the park the past few nights since his house burned down as he tries to figure out what to do for housing longer term. He said the skunks in the park are friendly. He knew because he'd been feeding them. I'm glad I selected a campsite at the other end of the park!
  • I camped at the heart of the US tonight (literally!). Hartville, Missouri is the population center of the United States according to the 2020 Census. The US Census Bureau describes it this way: "If the United States map was a scale and every person had equal weight, the center of population is the place where the scale would balance. In other words, the center of population is the average location of where people in the United States currently live." The mayor says it's fun that Hartville, a city with a big heart, is the heart of the US population.
  • I stopped to learn about the Civil War Battle of Hartville today.
