Route Map showing Day 32 of the TransAmerica Bicycle Trail, Cañon City Colorado to Pueblo Colorado

My pedal-assist system failed me in Grand Teton National Park. I pressed on for 9 days, traveled 475 miles, and climbed 18,500 feet without this source of power that I'd grown to love and rely upon.

My video today discusses how I coped. I share lessons I learned that can be applied to other circumstances when a source of strength fails you, such as an important professional or personal relationship.

After 2 days of success with the replacement system, I'm declaring my system fully back up and running now.

And by the way, I've found a source of power that will never, ever let you down. But let's save that conversation for your invitation at a time when we can meet face-to-face!

The ride today featured a spectacular view of Pike's Peak and the Rampart Range for most of the day. The pictures never quite reflect the panoramic beauty of the actual experience!

Making memories
  • I'm taking refuge for a few days with David and Lori to rest as I reach the mid point of my journey. Thank you for sharing your beautiful home and abundant love and joy with me!
  • Thanks to Bafang USA team at Ebike Essentials for your troubleshooting assistance and for expediting shipment of a replacement system to me under the warranty. I'm thankful to be back underway with a system that I've grown to love!
